Exploring The people behind the brands
DISCOVER MLOUYE
Recently, I was scrolling on Instagram and a video reel of the construction behind a canvas shell-shaped bag caught my attention. After quick investigation, I learned that the bag was the “Seashell Tote”, by Mlouye. While I’ve never heard of the brand before, a quick scan of their instagram page revealed that mlouye has a following just short of 1M (814K), a physical store located in Milan (initially leading me to believe the branc was Italian), and was founded by Meb Seyman (linked in the brand’s instagram bio). A quick Google search revealed a 2021 Vogue Türkiye interview with the brand’s founder, who is also known professionally as Meb Rure. A second search of Meb Rure led to several high-profile articles, with the earliest dating back to 2017.
IN-STUDIO WITH JAMIE ROSARIO (BRANCH EARRINGS)

JAMIE ROSARIO
I recently had the chance to visit Jamie’s studio, located in the west-end neighbourhood of Toronto, Roncesvalles. Jamie and I met in high school but reconnected recently after the 2024 OCAD Grad-Ex where she was showing her graduate capstone collection: “The Spaces In Between.”
The collection consists of four necklaces, all possessing whimsical names that are reminiscent of their nature-inspired composition and movement. Her pieces are dainty, yet bold and stray away from main-stream minimalistic jewelry trends.
ORIGIN STORY
DIMMMI DIMMI was founded in 2024 with the mission of empowering emerging designers.
We do this through business coaching, operations consulting, and offering a platform to showcase designers and their work.
In September 2024, we hosted our inaugural community fashion show in Toronto: ANYTHING GOES. The event took place at Soho House Toronto and featured 10 emerging designers
In February 2025, we launched DIMMI MARKET online. Our market highlights the makers behind each design and provides an inside look into their design and thought processes.Acting as a collective, makers receive competitive earnings by cutting out traditional operational costs associated with e-comm (domains, website subscriptions, operational salaries), giving them the opportunity to focus on what they do best- create.
